Fondazione Artieri 1852 has its roots in the social mutualism of the mid-1800s: its inspirer, Don Francesco Fiorio, a professor at the Ginnasio and a member of the Accademia degli Agiati of Rovereto, established a mutual aid society to provide economic and cultural responses. Today, Fondazione Artieri continues this story by offering new reflections on the concept of mutuality through the implementation of shared cultural and social projects, aiming to foster volunteerism and social cohesion networks. Currently, Fondazione Artieri 1852, a Philanthropic Entity, preserves and promotes the historical, cultural heritage, ideals, and values of the Società di Mutuo Soccorso degli Artieri di Rovereto, which was founded by workers and has served the community for over 170 years. History: In 1852, in Rovereto, the Società di Mutuo Soccorso degli Artieri was established by artisan workers. In 2013, the Society founded the Fondazione Artieri 1852 to safeguard and enhance its historical and cultural heritage. In 2014, the Foundation launched research, archiving, and promotion projects related to mutualistic culture. Andrea Benoni is president of the Artieri Foundation. Former mayor of Calliano (TN), he was president of the Vallagarina Artisans Association for many years, and is the creator and organizer of numerous craft fairs, exhibitions, and events dedicated to the history of violin making in Trentino.
